Hastings Skillsmatch

A wide range of local jobs is now available at the click of a mouse. Hastings Borough Council and local Partners have launched a free website that will match Employers with Job Hunters.

The site will be a big boost to dispelling the notion that there are only a few jobs in the area.  Already some of the region’s bigger employers have committed to using the site to advertise vacancies at all levels including managerial, professional and technical posts.

Job Hunters can log in and look for all the latest vacancies in the Hastings/Rother travel-to-work area. They will be able to upload CVs and set job preferences and even choose to have emails or text messages sent from the site to alert them to suitable new vacancies.

Employers will be able to search for Job Hunters who have registered for work in their sector, and have their jobs advertised free to hundreds of potential employees.

Job Hunters who would like advice or support with applications or wish to upgrade their skills can click on links to various appropriate organisations.

A Hastings Skillsmatch spokesperson said:
“What initially started as a way of connecting construction companies with local skilled labour has now become an exciting all sector recruitment site. We are aiming for over two hundred live jobs, volunteer opportunities or work-experience placements to be advertised at any one time. With individuals being able to get support from a number of agencies in their applications and employers having a good number of people applying for jobs, Skillsmatch should live up to its name and become an integral part of a thriving Hastings economy.”

Have a look at the site – it’s free and very easy to use:
